Thanks so much for getting your orders in! We'll be cooking a whopping 96 pizzas across three Ooni ovens on Saturday early evening (and hopefully not too far into the night). Here's everything to know.
The three Ooni pizza ovens get extremely hot. We'll set up the full kitchen and serving area on Saturday early afternoon, and once ready we'll tape off the area around the ovens as an absolute No-Go Area for everyone โ not least all the kids.
Please make sure everyone sticks to it. We'll make it clear on the day, but this is your advance warning and expectation-setting. ๐
We've gone through every order and time and made a few tweaks so we can (hopefully!) get all the pizzas roughly to time. Most orders have moved no more than 15 minutes from your preferred slot โ sorry to the one or two we nudged by 30. ๐
First pizzas ready at 5pm; the last should be done by 7:45, 8pm at the very latest.
Your kids' names (as per the sign-up sheet) and their pizzas will be shouted out from the Parlour serving hatch when ready โ hopefully around the time you're expecting.
We'll prepare, cook, cut and box roughly 10 pizzas across the three ovens every 15 minutes. Ambitious, but that's the plan!
If you didn't put a time you've been assigned a later slot (around 6:45โ7:30). Bring some filler snacks โ healthy or not โ for kids and grown-ups while you wait.
We've updated the online order tab with final timings โ and there'll be printed sheets at the Parlour too.
Everyone has been amazing in helping out. A massive shout-out to Matt for awesome organisation across the whole weekend, to Andy for his infinite wisdom in all things food prep, ordering and making โ it's all about the dough and keeping it fresh โ and to our brilliant volunteers Hong, Fenja, Saskia & Ariadna. We're all excited, if a little daunted!
We've got most of the set-up gear and ingredients, but a few final things would really help โ to borrow between 3โ8pm on Saturday. Cooler's sorted (thank you for the Yeti! ๐).
Our biggest challenge is keeping the dough fresh on a hot day. A spare gazebo to shade the prep section would be awesome.
We're sorted for the oven tables, but could do with a few extra to serve the finished pizzas from.
We don't plan on anything happening, but the ovens are a fire risk โ a small extinguisher on hand would be sensible.
Big old bathroom tiles (โ600ร600 or 600ร800) as a heatproof layer between the ovens and the picnic tables. Renovation leftovers? Perfect.
